Oil dilution is caused by over working of the DPF system. The dpf system will engage it a self cleaning procedure to burn off the stored soot particles in the DPF filter, this is commonly known as DPF Regeneration. What you don't know is when the DPF Regeneration is operation, it is producing harmful gases which make there way into oil lubrication system and contaminate the engine oil, this is how oil dilution happens. The engine oil will get diluted to a point where it can no longer lubricate the internal working parts, at this point the engine will fail.
